The Certified Nonprofit Consultant credential (CNC):
-Is overseen by the National Development Institute and is issued to nonprofit professionals with at least three years nonprofit experience.
-Certifies a professional’s accomplishments, expertise, and commitment to provide consulting services to the nonprofit sector.
-Costs $350 for three year initial certification and $149 for each three year recertification
-Can be secured within 45 days of receipt of application
-Demonstrates expertise in ONE or more of the following disciplines:
Administration
Database Management
Human Resources
Financial Management
Board Development
Marketing & Public Relations
Fundraising Development
Program Management
-Is issued based on a written inventory of a professional’s education, continuing education, practice, performance, references and a multiple choice exam.
Professionals with the Certified Nonprofit Counselor (CNC) credential:
-Have their personal certification recorded at the offices of the National Development Institute.
-Receive the title Certified Nonprofit Consultant and are authorized to use the credential CNC example: Linda Johnson, CNC
-Receive a certificate for public display declaring their certification
-Provide professional guidance and advice to nonprofit organizations and are financially remunerated for such services.
-Demonstrate to the public and nonprofit community their significant achievement
